I am a human being; nothing human can be alien to me. ~ Terence
As we are ending MLK Jr. celebrations around the world, I hope that we can take his vision of brotherhood and standing up for what is right and just with us in our daily lives. It is somewhat disheartening that society only emphasizes this on this federal holiday and during black history month. However, it is up to us to decide to take these values forward and to share with those we encounter.
As Dr. Angelou stated, we must choose to use our talents and gifts constructively. I was speaking with a friend earlier today and we both touched on the fact that situations in life are messy and uncomfortable at times, but that is when our purpose shines. We have to be willing to use ourselves to stand up for justice. We must remember that we are all here together!
