Taste of Accra: Highgate Hotel

For our first official meal in Ghana, we ate at the hotel’s restaurant after a long, arduous day of travel. I was more than ready to try a Ghanian Club beer, one of the national brands, while reflecting on the day and to discuss our upcoming trip. I ordered Red Red fish which is a common Ghanian dish made up of beans, spices, a hot sauce, fish, and red plantains. You can also order this dish with beef or chicken as well. I had to also sample their Jollof Rice too. Hands down, this was exactly what I needed to finish off this first day!
