Tonight we took a leisurely walk through the neighborhood to eat at The Orangery restaurant. The sign advertised private dining on the front of the building, but once seated, we realized that this would be a true private dining experience! No one else was there! I didn’t mind as the food that followed was delicious. I ordered tilapia with peppers and a side of Kelewele. This was absolutely awesome. My tilapia came whole, head still attached, and fully flavorful. The peppers provided a kick that was not overpowering to the fish, but actually complementary.
The Kelewele hit the spot too! This snack consists of plantains fried in spices and, in this case, pepper sauce. Hands down one of the best things I have eaten so far. I have to get the recipe and preparation method before I leave.
If you are ever in Accra, stop by and have your own private dining experience!
